Following hotel pick-up by your English speaking driver and guide at 6:00 am from Chiang Mai City area hotel,your first stop will be Morning alms giving to monk.You will participate in giving morning alms to the monks as well as learn about Thai Buddhism.Alms giving is a religious rite which,in general,involves giving materially to another as an act of religious virtue.
Head over to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep.This is Chiang Mai’s most important visible landmark.According to legend,holy relics discovered during the reign of King Kuena (1355-1385).
After having breakfast you will visit Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara.One of Chiang Mai’s most important temples is the Wat Chedi Luang located in the ancient walled part of the city.The Wat Chedi Luang, also known as the Jedi Luang and “The temple of the Great Stupa” initially consisted of two more temples named Wat Ho Tham and Wat Sukmin.
Next you'll proceed to Wat Sri Suphan.The Wat Sri Suphan is one of the oldest in Chiang Mai,built originally between 1495 and 1515.Within the complex there is a stone tablet over 500 years old.The language on the tablet is Faak Khaam which predates the Lanna. The actual Silver Temple itself is now the main shrine.
Afterwards, you'll visit Warorot Market (Kad Luang). Warorot Market is one of the places where lots of Thai locals do their own shopping,so expect to find the same or similar goods that you see at other Markets also sold here but cheaper and usually of better quality. You can buy almost anything at Warorot Market, a real mixed bag of everything.There are clothing,shoes,cosmetics,jewelry, lacquerware,silks,hemps,handicrafts,electronic gadgets,sunglasses,watches,souvenirs.
You'll have lunch at a local restaurant at your own cost before visiting (closed Monday).The Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Centre is a museum which teaches visitors about Thailand’s rich cultural heritage and vibrant art scene.Upon arrival,you will be welcomed by Thai people in traditional dress who will usher you in to watch a quick film about the history of Chiang Mai.After the film, you can visit the museum at your leisure as you learn more about the region’s history,the royal family,war with the Burmese as well as exhibitions on Buddhism and cultural beliefs.
Then enjoy Chiang Mai 3D Art Museum.It is one of the most fun places in the city to take photographs of you.The museum has over 130 different images of illusions -paintings drawn to create a 3D image which allows people to seem as if they are really in the picture.It is one of the biggest 3D museums in the world spread out over floors.There are six different zones in the museum including the underwater world, lassic art,ancient Egypt and Surreal art.
At approximately 2:00 pm, you'll arrive back at your hotel in Chiang Mai City area hotel where the tour will end.
